Architecture

I was tasked with taking photos of interesting architecture in Lincoln. Below, are some photos of the architecture that I found particularly interesting.

This photo, in my opinion is very interesting because of the leading lines atop the building in the foreground, as well as the lines on the building in the background. These lines lead the eye around the composition as a whole and therefore reveal different elements of the photograph.

I also really like this photo because the Cathedral is a famous landmark of Lincoln. The use of a shallow depth of field means that all within the Frame is in focus, therefore giving the eye plenty to observe. The similarity of colour within the frame is interesting as it makes both buildings seen to merge together within the frame – it is not until the eye has focused on a specific object within the photograph that both buildings separate into the separate entities in which they are perceived.
